Features of Hosting Plan – Disk Space, Email Accounts

The hosting plan included the following features:

DISK SPACE:- All hosting account offers a certain amount of the disk space that you can use to store your web files. It is recommended that you have some estimates on what you need for various tasks. How much space you need to store your web files, email, databases, etc. By breaking down your usage, you can better estimate for how much space you should go for.

EMAIL ACCOUNTS:- Email account is the most common feature of hosting, especially if the admin hosting a domain. There are three types of email accounts:

1. POP3:- Pop3 are the oldest internet message access protocols. It was designed to support offline/local email processing. Email is delivered to a mail server and a remote email client periodically downloads the email from the server to the user’s computer. Once the messages are delivered, they are deleted from the mail server, although users can configure their email client to leave a copy of the email on the mail server. The main advantages of pop3 email are that all email are downloaded to your computer therefore you don’t have any need to logged in the internet. Opening the attachment is so easy and quick as the file is already downloaded to your computer. The pop3 have a demerit that opening the attachment is easy and quick, sometime a bit too easy and quick if the attachment has a virus in it.

2. FORWARDING:- Forwarding mail accounts are useful if you are employing the service of another company to filter your emails for you. Rather than storing your emails on your mail server, emails are redirected to another email address.

3. ALIAS ACCOUNT:- Aliases accounts are similar to forwarding mail accounts. Some hosts allow you to setup a catch-all alias, which is often used to collect emails sent to addresses not recognized by your mail server.

4. FTP ACCESS:- If you have created your web pages on your computer. To transfer those file to your web server you need a FTP file transfer protocol to transfer the file saved on your computer to your webserver.
